You want your wedding shower to be fun, and a celebration of your upcoming nuptials. By taking the time to plan out your wedding and making sure that you approve of all said plans is a great way to do this. Here are some wedding shower tips that will help with who to invite, what games to play on your bridal shower, the location to hold it and other activities.

Who to Invite

The simple rule for inviting people to your wedding shower is: invite the people you’d love to share it with! If you’re the host and not the bride, you should either obtain a list from the bride or invite the ladies (and men, if the shower will be co-ed) that are part of the bridal party. You may want to include family members of the bride that aren’t part of the wedding party.

Location

There are no rules when it comes to the wedding shower location. It can take place in the bride’s home, a family member’s home, a restaurant or even a banquet room if the wedding shower will be large. Simply make sure the chosen location will accommodate the number of wedding shower guests you’ve invited.

Events

One of the most important parts of the wedding shower is the events that will take place. Be sure to include a good mix of fun games and excellent food. One great game is the traditional “no word” song. When guests arrive, inform them of the word that is not allowed to be spoken, and make it a hard one – couple, marriage and wife are great ones. Have them place pins on their shirt that are stolen if they say the word. The person with the pin left at the end of the night gets a prize.
