Wedding Gift Idea: 100 Date Jar

wb Leave a Comment

This is a beautiful gift to give to your brand new spouse, and very thoughtful as well. It’s a jar containing 100 date ideas; some that cost nothing and some that cost various amounts of money. Each week (or month), you can choose a date idea and go from there. Here’s what you’ll need to make the jar:

  • 1 Large Mason Jar
  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Sharpie Pen
  • 2 Shades of Paint

Start by writing free date ideas on 34 of the Popsicle sticks using the sharpie marker. Date ideas could be things like:

  • Play board games and order pizza in.
  • Spend the day at the beach with a picnic lunch.
  • Dance in the living room.

It may take a little while to come up with some ideas, so while you’re thinking, use one of your paint colors to paint 33 of the Popsicle sticks. Then use the other paint color to paint the remaining popsicle sticks.

Next, you will write (on one color of sticks) date ideas that cost very little money. For instance, you might add:

  • See a movie together.
  • Go out for ice cream.
  • Visit the summer fair.

Finally, you should write date ideas on the last color of sticks that are a little more expensive, or for nights when you want to go all out. They could include:

  • Visit your favorite restaurant and order a bottle of wine.
  • Book a hotel suite for the night.
  • Go on a helicopter ride together.

Now, when it’s time to choose a date, they’re color-coded depending upon how much money you want to spend at any given time! Place the lid on the jar and tie it with a ribbon. Voila – a fantastic gift for your spouse.
