Yes, that title is indeed a wordplay of the Cheshire cat smile and this wedding’s venue, Cheshire, UK – because this day was brimming with big smiles. I went through the whole album and almost all pictures of the bride and groom were of them smiling up to their ears. It’s honestly infectious! But really, who could blame them. This was such a beautiful day for their union as one. And the details were gorgeous so there was definitely no room for frowning. But aside from this aspect of the wedding, I am also in awe of the artistic photos of our couple that were captured by their photographer. I love these dramatic shots as much as the candid photos. Congratulations Carolyn and Simon!

Carolyn and Simon got married at the stunning Thornton Manor in Cheshire, having the wedding ceremony in the private house before moving to the Lakeside Marquee for their evening reception and lots of dancing!
The whole day was absolutely perfect and I don’t think I have ever seen a couple as excited as Carolyn and Simon both were. They didn’t stop smiling for the whole day as they enjoyed their dream day together.
When they first visited Thornton Manor, both Carolyn and Simon both knew that it was where they wanted to spend their day. Carolyn wanted a venue that was traditional during the daytime but which could then turn in to a huge party in the evening – which is exactly what happened!
Simon proposed on a summers day in London (which is where they both live) by getting down on one knee in a park shortly after eating a picnic and drinking champagne.
Carolyn absolutely loved wedding planning and told me that although it was a bit overwhelming at first, she soon started to enjoy it as everything came together. Simon was involved too and it was his job to book the band and the photographer – it was teamwork all the way for this couple!
Carolyn loved all her wedding suppliers but makes a special mention to Flossy and Leigh for making all the girls’ hair and make up absolutely amazing hair (and from a photographer point of view they are incredible to work with!) and also Springbank did an amazing job with the flowers, her band The Different Lights, and the Solo Players String Quartet who even learnt Simon’s favourite song especially for the ceremony!
What was your favorite part of the day?
As the photographer, I enjoyed the whole day but I particularly liked the shots in the morning before the ceremony. There was such a sense of excitement in the air!
What part of the ceremonies do you think was the most memorable for the bride and groom?
I think Carolyn and Simon enjoyed the whole day, they didn’t stop smiling at any point! Everything flowed perfectly and thanks to all their planning, the day couldn’t have gone any better.
