The perfect wedding shower is a get-together of your best friends and family, complete with entertaining games, great music, delicious food, and memories to be made. A great wedding shower doesn’t have to be too expensive, but it does have to be well-planned. If you are new to wedding shower planning, a quick guide can help shed lights on even the stickiest subjects.

The first step to coming up with how to throw the perfect wedding shower is to have the basic logistics planned out. Invite friends of the couple, and make sure to invite people from groups that “mesh.” As long as everyone knows someone, no one will feel left out. Next, plan a time and date that most people can attend. Finding a good location is easy – your house, a restaurant, or even a local garden are all great places to hold a wedding shower. If it’s at a restaurant, lounge, or garden, make reservations if necessary. A wedding shower is also best kept small and intimate.

Next, it’s time to start picking themes to stick with. Most wedding showers are done in a two-color theme. White and a pastel color usually works well, but tri-color showers also can make a beautiful color scheme. Try not to make the colors too outlandish; a well-planned shower will even include these colors in the food presentation.

Pick an invitation that is classy, informative, and also fits in your color scheme. Add all the information that people need to know, along with an RSVP phone number. Send them out weeks in advance, so that you can change plans if someone doesn’t attend.

Make a list of everything that you’ll need for the wedding shower. Party favors, foods, serving plates, silverware, and even wedding shower game supplies are all going to be on this list. Some friends often will buy items off the registry, use them as decoration for the wedding shower, and then present them as gifts for the bride and groom.

Need help coming up with wedding shower decorations? Candles in the theme colors are a classic choice, as are flowers in matching colors. Finger sandwiches, pate on crackers, fruit plates, and petits fours are excellent choices for wedding shower foods. Colored marzipan often is used as both garnishes and snacks. Wedding shower games like Bridal Bingo, scrapbooking, and trivia games are excellent ways to provide some fun while enjoying the company of friends and family. Plenty of bridal shower games are also available online.

Throwing the perfect bridal shower is easy. Colorful themes, classy gifts, and fun twists to bridal party games are all that you need to make a bridal shower look amazing. But, looks aren’t everything. As long as you have food, friends, and fun, you will have a bunch of beautiful memories bound to happen.
