Choosing a destination wedding location isn’t always a breeze, but there are some tips that can help you make the decision process a little easier. Check out these how-to tips for a destination wedding location decision made easy!

For many couples, deciding on a destination wedding location is simple. You might automatically know where you want to get hitched the moment you settle on a having a destination wedding. Others aren’t so lucky. There are countless location options to choose from, and when you take two opinions and different preferences into account…well, you’re looking at a whole new ball game.

Finding a way to compromise on a location can be tough, and it can be even tougher to make a location decision if both you and your spouse-to-be are torn between a number of location options. Whatever your dilemma, do the following to make choosing a destination wedding location easier on everyone:

Use the process of elimination—This is the key to making your destination location decision easy. Start by making a list of every location that immediately comes to mind when you begin considering location options, and then go through the locations one by one to start narrowing down your selection. Eventually, you’ll be able to eliminate a majority of the locations from the list, and you’ll be forced to decide on only one!

Make a list of preferred activities—Another key to making your destination wedding location decision easier is to focus on factors that need to be considered. For example, focus on one important factor—activities. While you’re on your honeymoon, do you have your heart set on snorkeling? Then you’re not going to want to get married in the mountains. Have you always wanted to soak up a city’s culture by visiting famous art museums and attending the local opera? Then getting hitched on an exotic island that is cut off from civilization won’t cut it! Make a list of activities you’d like to try and choose a location that offers them.

Consider the weather and environment—The weather is another crucial factor to consider in order to make your destination wedding location decision easier. Choose a location based on the season you want to be married in. If you hate the cold or you don’t want your guests sweating on your big day, choose a location that will accommodate your preferences.

Finally, don’t forget to take your budget and travel costs into account when choosing a destination wedding location. Not all of your guests will be able to afford travel costs for a destination wedding, which might mean not having special people you care about at the ceremony. Weighing all of these factors will make your destination wedding location decision much easier.
