More and more brides are choosing to have an open bar for their reception, though it is an additional cost you’ll have to budget it. If you want the fun of an open bar without all the cost, have your bartender create just 1 or 2 different cocktails. The fun part is you can choose cocktails that match your wedding colors!

Yellow Cocktails

There are many different cocktails that are yellow, and it’s wise to choose a liquor that can be used in more than one cocktail. For instance, an Apple Cosmopolitan and a 747 are both yellow drinks made from vodka. Purchase tiny yellow umbrellas or straws and you have the perfect cocktails for a yellow color scheme.

Blue Cocktails

The Blue Moon is a beautifully blue drink created from Gin and Curacao while the Smurf uses strawberry vodka, blue curacao, lime juice and sprite. A slice of lemon on the glass creates a beautiful drink that your guests are sure to love.

Red

For a red colored cocktail, think Bloody Mary, strawberry daiquiris or spiked fruit punch. The Babar cocktail is made from vodka and features Passoa, guanabana juice and cranberry juice. This makes a fun and tasty (fruity) drink that many enjoy.

If you have a few different colors you’d like to feature, make sure to choose a good variety of cocktails. For instance, you may want to have one tart and one sweet option so guests can find something they love.
