3 Wedding Songs To Make Your Guests’ Hearts Melt

Everyone has a favorite wedding song. Outside of the typical wedding march, all of the other songs are chosen by the couple for their nuptials. The music enhances the mood of the wedding, so you want it to be a perfect match.

Some couples make the mistake of choosing a song because the singer is one of their favorites and it seems mellow enough. Then once they stop and listen, they realize that on their wedding day, they’re playing a song about heartbreak. Talk about mismatch.

A modern favorite for the father and daughter dance is the song Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle. It’s a beautiful song about a father and how he feels as he recalls watching his daughter grow up. Each night she would give him little kisses before she’d nod off to sleep. The song says: “With all that I’ve done wrong, I must have done something right to deserve her love every morning and butterfly kisses at night.”

The song Unforgettable by Natalie Cole and her father, Nat King Cole, is a favorite for the first dance. Isn’t it so true for the newlyweds? You married the person who was most unforgettable to you. Best of all, as the Coles sing it: “That’s why darling, it’s incredible that someone so unforgettable thinks that I am unforgettable too.” How’s that for a romantic touch? Watch the video below (isn’t it GREAT!)…

Looking for a great song to end your wedding party with? Try the legendary song by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes called I’ve Had the Time of My Life. It’s a beautiful song taken from a wonderful movie. It starts slowly but builds up to a great rhythmic beat that will get your guests up on the dance floor. Plus they’ll leave your party singing: “I’ve had the time of my life and I’ve never felt this way before and I swear it’s so true and I owe it all to you.” What better way to end your wedding day than that?

My favorite wedding ceremony song glitch happened last year. The couple had a friend playing music for the ceremony on a CD player. The friend accidentally put in the wrong CD and the couple processed to “Another One Bites the Dust” by Queen. It’s a good thing that they had a sense of humor.

Haha, I’ve been to weddings where that would have been the perfect song David! One where the couple broke up before they even jetted off on their honeymoon – seriously! 🙂

My hubby and I had Wonderful world by Louis Armstrong at our wedding, it was no 1 when I was born and was always my dad’s favourite song after that. Sadly my dad died a couple of months before our wedding so it was even more personal to me as I felt he was there with us when we danced our first dance.

There are loads of wedding songs available but for the most special day in your life you definitely think of something that’s perfect for you and will make your day special. The songs listed truly deserve to be great choice for weddings to enhance that atmosphere. “Together forever by Rick Astley” is another great song that I love.

So exciting! I have just had a wedding and used the favorite wedding song-butterfly kisses by Bob Carlisle. Along with playing the song, the All guests are deeply melted and moved.

Wonderful Tonight is one of my all time favorite songs. Back when Clapton made great music. Played Wonderful World for my Mom at my wedding and she sobbed like a baby.

I love it when the bride and groom make a huge effort for the first dance. Starting with something slow and then suddenly changing to something fast with a suitable dance to suit. Always surprises the guests and gets everyone in the mood!

The fast pace first dance is starting to become the thing to do, with well rehearsed dance moves. But is this because new wedding songs being released are far and few between, and the classics have been done so many times people are needing to break out of the standard mold. A great twist is to get your wedding band to do an acoustic version, this way guest will know the song but be suprised by the way its done.

However you do your first dance, ensure you do what you feel is right. It is your day.

Some really nice suggestions here. You are absolutely right to say that people should think about the music they want played at their wedding and to especially listen to the lyrics of the songs that they choose. Some songs can sound really romantic but actually have a slightly depressing message. I think it is best to pick special songs that have a celebratory tone to really fit in with the overall theme of the day…there is no point having “Everybody Hurts” when it is supposed to be the best day of your life!

Personally, I think I prefer something upbeat and happy to help set the tone although I do see the emotional attraction of some ballads. What do people think about rehearsed dances and the like?
