Tips for Keeping Your Wedding Party and Guests Comfortable at an Outdoor Wedding

Katie Leave a Comment

Outdoor weddings are becoming more and more popular, but if you’re planning one, it’s important to keep your guests and your wedding party comfortable. There are a few important tips that will help you keep everyone happy at your outdoor wedding.

Provide an Indoor Area

Even if your wedding will take place outdoors, it’s important that you have an indoor area for guests to be able to use the bathroom, get out of the sun or wind, etc. Usually, the venue that is hosting the wedding (historic home, garden, etc.) will provide an indoor area for this purpose.

Offer Shelter

Even if there isn’t an indoor area where guests can go, you should provide some type of shelter. Trade gazebos are a great idea for an outdoor wedding. They can be constructed wherever you’d like and they offer a nice area out of the sun for guests to relax. They’re also perfect for serving refreshments at an outdoor wedding reception.

Offer Sunglasses

Place cheap sunglasses in a large basket near the entrance of the celebration area. Guests who didn’t think about bringing sunglasses can keep the sun out of their eyes and enjoy the festivities more. You may also want to offer other types of accessories and items, such as travel-sized sunblock or umbrellas.

Offer Seating

Even if you’re not offering seating for everyone (such as at a Hawaiian-style bonfire reception), make sure there is seating for older guests or others who want to sit down for a few minutes.
