Summer Wedding

Hello all! This is my first post! I originally had my wedding planned for January 2009, but with work, and uncoperative vendors, I had to change the date to July 25, 2009. So now I am in the midst of a dilema. I originally wanted charcoal grey dresses for my bridesmaids, with accents of green, cream and white. I think it will be a color scheme that I will not regret in the future! So is charcoal grey too deep of a color for a summer wedding? I was thinking of adding some purple accents here and there just to punch it up a bit. Your thoughts?

I think it is a great color scheme, especially if you add some purple in there to brighten it up a bit!

I think as long as you pair the charcoal grey with a pastel, you’ll be just fine. The latest trend is actually charcoal grey/silver with a pale yellow. The grey/silver will serve to ground the pastels, whether you choose yellow, green or a sweet lavender.

How about a fushia pink instead of purple..pink and gray compliment each other. together..or just stick to neutrals?

I was actually thinking the exact same color for my August wedding. I think I might try and match my groomsmen’s suits with the color, but add a white sash on the girls, that way it will all look classy and put together.

I’m new to this site - my wedding is planned for July 2010 but my brides dresses (already purchased are grey) my dress is ivory and I am teaming this with cool water roses which is a lovely pink so will use pale and dark shades of pink for accent colours. Glad others seem to have simliar idea with the gray colour

I am actually doing charcoal dresses in my wedding (5.22.09). I have had a realllly hard time finding this color as a bridesmaid dress - but obviously i love your taste! I am doing the dress charcoal with a coral pump shoe and tie in coral flowers…

Hi! I’m having my wedding on June 20, 09. I have my BMs wearing charcoal dresses and black sashes (to show that the dress isn’t black) and the guys in black tuxs and a vest that is silver with charcoal accents. However, I am stuck on the flower color– I want to add a color to brighten my silver/grey/charcoal theme and our centerpieces are white cala lilies– I just don’t know what other flower type and color will fit best….. Any Ideas? I like the purple accent idea so far…

I am getting married on the 25th July 09 too!! using charcoal grey and fuschia for my colours with roses in various shades of pink. My BMs will pick the pink dresses (various pinks that best suit their tones) with charcoal grey sash….voila!! you have individuality, elegance without stuffiness. Good luck
