Blogs We Love : LotusHaus

Talk about inspiration! This blog is FULL of it (inspiration, I mean). LotusHaus is a blog I recently came across and can’t stop reading.

Some of the faves:

Modern & Chic Wedding Suite

Little Miss Fabulous of LH marvelously displays these works of art (well, that’s what I’d call them) in a number of posts. This particular event she discovered on Bride’s Cafe with Gilly Flowers, Stephanie Lairson, and Bumatau Studio as vendors. I love the color combination and modern theme. Perfect for the bold bride (and groom)!

Wired Up

LOOK at this marvelous creation! Can you imagine having this piece on your guest book table or incorporating it into your reception tablescapes? I sure can. And what’s better, this isn’t the only beautiful floral piece LH has to offer!

Bibi Magazine } Global Modern Bride

Resources galore! It’s great to find new things, and LH is definitely great at it.

Check out the blog. Fall in love!

And don’t forget to check out our GIVEAWAY! It ends on Friday.

Blogs We Love : Creature Comforts

Ez, the author of Creature Comforts (a blog about “design for creatures great and small), has amazing taste and talent. I’m addicted to her blog. Below are some of my favorite posts. If it wouldn’t take me the entire day, I’d post more. Definitely check it out for some DIY projects, ideas, or just plain inspiration. Read on then click over!

Love Isn’t Love Until You Give It Away

I absolutely LOVE this project! It’s not difficult and the best part (the swirly tag) can be downloaded, printed off, cut out, and used!! I’ve already done it - they look fabulous!

Color Crush

This post has even better pictures that show how these colors are used to but together something fabulous. It would work oh-so-well for a wedding or room color scheme. If you like this one, you MUST check out the other Color Crush posts!

Chic for Cheap : Bridal Shower

These are such a great idea. Sometimes it’s hard to be chic…AND cheap! Ez puts together some GREAT little numbers…for a price that isn’t half bad.

Blogs We Love : Zinke Designs

Inspiration. ‘Nuff said! My faves:

A Kiss to Build a Dream On

The perfect post to get inspiration for all of those fabulous “kiss” shots on your big day. Warm fuzzies!

Guest Book Flair

The guest book gets left out sometimes - not that couples don’t have them…they just aren’t “exciting”. They don’t get much decoration or many “oh la la’s”. And it’s a shame! True, a guestbook might be something you and your love look at once every 10-20 years, but still. Most of your guests will look at and sign it, so give it a little love! This is an awesome post with some great ideas to spice up “the guest book table”!

How to Not Look Like You’re Going to Prom on Your Big Day

It’s true, you know…you probably don’t want to look like you’re going to prom on your wedding day. This post has some must-read tips and must-see pics on anti-prom/pro-wedding ‘dos.

Blogs We Love : Blush Events

You know when you see something and get warm fuzzies all over? Well, when I read up on Blush Event’s blog, I definitely get those warm fuzzies. Between the great photos, articles, and fabulous resources, it’s a blog that brides and wedding professionals alike should check out.

It all started with a girl that fell in love with weddings. By the time she had planned her own, she knew there was nothing more that she wanted to do than work with weddings all the time - so her company Blush Events was born.

Some posts that I adore:

Must Have Photos :: The Ring Shot

I love these pics too! It’s a great post to help spark some creative ideas for couples or photographers wanting a “ring shot” or two. Fabulous!

Pretty Pictures

Another post on pictures, I know, but I think this is one of the most fabulous things about Blush’s blog! There are ALWAYS so many pretty pictures for viewing. Pure eye candy!

Vanilla Bake Shop

I love anything that’s sweet, so I ate this post up. It’s about a husband and wife team that love each other and love their work, which just so happens to be making pure deliciousness. The post offers some great inspiration for cakes and other dessert items.

And lastly, one of my favorite things is the whole right side of the page (aka all the great, organized resources). You’ll find a great blogroll, links to real life brides’ blogs, the “Crème de la Crème” of the wedding industry, inspiration for style and design, all things paper and all things sweets, and even a few links your groom could benefit from by clicking. Check it out!

Blogs We Love : Hello! Lucky

As you may or may not know, I love paper - old, new, green, blue, whatever! I love it all. So of course, stationary fabulousness is always of interest. Let me introduce to you Hello! Lucky, a letterpress wedding invitation and social stationary company, and their must-read blog.

The company does everything - engagement and birth announcements, wedding invitations, personal stationary, and tons of greeting cards. And perhaps my favorite item, gift wrap!

Hello! Lucky

As I mentioned before, they ladies of Hello! Lucky write a great blog. Here are a few of my favorite posts!

Dreamy Magical Surrealism + Tim Walker
Hello! Lucky

First, I adore that Hello! Lucky likes the “Alice in Wonderland-style dreamy magical surrealism”. I think it makes for some FAB-U-LOUS wedding inspiration. The post above features photographs from Tim Walker’s Soldier, Soldier, Won’t You Marry Me? If you’re looking for a dreamy, girly, soft wedding vibe, definitely check out this post.

Moving a Letterpress Studio
Hello! Lucky

You have to hand it to these ladies - moving in itself is quite the task…I would imagine moving an entire letterpress studio would be an even more daunting task! But the reason I like this post so much? Because it’s always nice to see what goes on behind the product.

Hello!Lucky at the National Stationery Show

Hello! Lucky

For a company that is easily accessible through the internet, it’s nice to see the real people that run the company. And, I’ll be honest - I really wish I were at the National Stationary Show so I could look at each and every single one of their pieces… to die for!

Blogs We Love : Swanky Tables

I get a lot of questions about centerpieces - What are some unique centerpieces ideas? What elements should they include? What are some ideas I can use if I’m trying save money? What’s something that would work well with my day’s overall theme?

Don’t get me wrong, centerpieces are indeed important, but so is the rest of the table! I think the little things are often overlooked (or perhaps because fancier plates and flatware tend to be a bit more expensive, many couples don’t consider the different options). Enter : Swanky Tables.

Annette, the author of this fabulous blog is in the event design business. It’s a good thing, too, becase I think the lady knows what she’s talking about! A few of my fave posts:

Shanghai Nights Dinner Party
Swanky Tables

I love this bold design! It would lend itself very nicely to an engagement party, rehearsal dinner, or ladies night out (or in)! The following post give the details on the invites - paper fortune cookies!

Brunch with a Preppy Twist
Swanky Tables

Okay, so I feel like I’m cheating with this one because it’s yesterday’s post. But I do love it so! I have a soft spot for all things preppy, so naturally, I’m drawn to it. Again, it’s design would be superb for a bridal shower or luncheon.

The Bar
Swanky Table

Okay, so this isn’t a post…it’s a category of posts. But, it’s definitely a category worth combing though. With some absolutely mouthwatering recipes and lots of need-to-know tidbits, check it out before your next wedding (or non-wedding) related event. Maybe you’ll find a new favorite or some inspiration for creating your own.

Sorry for the absence of “Blogs We Love”! No worries - we’re back! This week we are loving The Green Kangaroo’s blog (which can be found on the fabulous site of the unique wedding invitations and stationary company. They offer nothing but unique, original designs. Blogs We Love : Peonies and Polaroids

I’ll be honest - the first thing I noticed about Peonies and Polaroids was the faaabulous pictures. Just about everything is “just my style”, so how could I possibly resist letting myself get sucked in to reading? Everything looks very elegant and classy, a bit modern and a bit vintage. PERFECT! Check out some of my favorite posts!

Short and Sweet
peonies and polaroids

Okay, so I adore the image. But! The post continues with “oh so sweet, oh so stylish photos of “short and sweet” dresses that could be worn for your wedding, as bridesmaids dresses, or even the rehearsal dinner. Hurrah for short dresses! Tres chic.

Sweet Shoe Love

As I’ve said before, I adore shoes. And vintage chic wedding shoes get extra points. It’s fabulous that Ms Peonie says, “I’m not really a wedding shoes kind of a gal, white shoes leave me cold, white satin makes me cringe. I have no plans to wear wedding shoes to my wedding, I plan to wear red satin peep toes with heels so high that will almost be level with The Boy’s 6ft and 2 inches.” But no worries, she follows that up with ”
But I am a vintage loving kind of a gal, a eau de nil suede, gold leather detail, crystal beads and feathers kind of a gal and each one of these beautiful creations makes my heart skip a beat…” Marvelous!

An Antique Veil…
peonies and polaroids
A simply gorgeous photo, and an even more fabulous veil. Just as Ms Peonie puts it, “truly beautiful and delicate”.

For photo credits, check out Peonies and Polaroids - she does a magnificent job of citing her finds! Have a great weekend everyone!

Blogs We Love : Junebug Weddings

Ms Christy over at Junebug Weddings is the, how do the kids say it, bomb-diggity? Even though she is based out of Seattle (and not to mention a crazy-awesome photographer and part of the exclusive wedding planning resource for Seattle that is Junebug Weddings), she has tons of posts that definitely need to be shared. Below I selected a few of my favorites.

But before I get to that, the blog is just all-around fabulous. It’s nicely organized into pages that are dedicated to Inspiration, Honeymoons, Fashion, Fun Ideas, Beauty Treats, Hot Dates, Real Weddings, and Great Reads. And there is no need to stop at those fabulous pages…check out groombug, just for grooms!

On to a few of the faves:

Fall’s Little Black Dress

junebug weddings

I’m a HUGE fan of the “little black dress”. They are classic and ooooh-so-fabulous. You just can’t have too many of them! Wear them for the rehearsal, a night out with the ladies, or for a hot date (with your soon-to-be husband, of course). In addition, a lot of brides are taking a laid-back approach when choosing their ‘maids dresses, asking them to purchase inexpensive black dresses or wear ones they already have! And these, in most cases, can definitely be worn again. Like Christy says, “you just can’t go wrong with a LBD!”

Men’s Wear Ideas for Summer Weddings

junebug weddings

I don’t know about you, but I don’t see enough posts for the fellows of the wedding world! A simple article with some fabulous visuals.

Travel Cute

junebug weddings

With so much emphasis put on planning the wedding itself, sometimes other things are pushed aside! But there is no way you could forget about planning that honeymoon if you get to use these creative and trendy travel bags and accessories from Orla Kiely. Too cute!

Blogs We Love : Offbeat Bride

Since the beginning of my blogging days, I have followed the Offbeat Bride’s blog. It is FULL of never-before-seen-or-done wedding tidbits that I just never get bored with. And, before you think to yourself “Well, I’m not an offbeat bride,” think again! You might just find yourself drooling over the “wedding porn” (no “adult material”, I promise!) or not being able to stop reading all the great advice Ariel has for all brides out there, not just the self-proclaimed offbeat ones!

While her most recent post was definitely a good one (something a lot of couples deal with), here are a few of my faves:

Wedding Invitation Wording that Won’t Make You Barf

Invitation wording can be tricky…and often a style very “un-you”. Ariel posts some great ways to word those invites in a way that’s fun and contemporary, but still gets all that important info out there. I think this sentence sums up the post quite nicely, “I think the best rule of thumb is to stay pretty basic — not formal, but basic.”

Raina’s library wedding
library wedding

I have this thing about libraries. I love them, in fact. I can’t really explain that, however, because I’m not huge on reading. Most of the reading I do is blogs, bridal magazines, and wedding planning books…but hey, not the point! This library wedding had a total of seven guests and cost lest than $600 for every single thing (including the dinner for nine people)! Definitely check it out.

There is SO much more good stuff, so check it out!
