Spring weddings are absolutely beautiful; the flowers are starting to bloom, the weather has warmed up and the whole world seems to show promise that anything is possible. When it’s time to starting planning your spring wedding décor, keep these fantastic ideas in mind that are not only gorgeous, but affordable as well.
1. Decoupaged and Stamped Plastic Eggs
Don’t these festive eggs look absolutely gorgeous? Imagine a few of these in nests being used as centerpieces for a spring wedding? The great thing is that these are super cheap because they’re just plastic eggs! Simply use Modge Podge or glue and water to decoupage tissue paper onto the eggs and allow them to dry. Then use a stamp to create designs – that’s it!
2. Decorative Birdcages
Decorative birdcages are all the rage right now, and that makes them fairly pricy. All you need to do is locate a used birdcage (which can be found at thrift stores, yard sales, eBay, flea markets or Facebook “for sale” groups) and clean it thoroughly. Use spray paint to paint it the color you choose and then use it as a centerpiece, card holder, or other type of décor. It’s super easy, adorable and perfect for spring…not to mention affordable!
3. Crepe Paper Pomander Balls
Pomander balls purchased specifically for wedding décor can be quite expensive, but you can create beautiful ones for a fraction of the cost. Simply purchase foam craft spheres and crepe paper in your desired color. Roll up crepe paper rosettes and hot-glue them all over the surface of the ball. You can add a ribbon for hanging or leave a spot to glue the ball to a candlestick holder for an instant and high-end looking décor item.
4. Birdhouse Centerpieces
Birdhouse centerpieces for a rustic wedding are absolutely darling. Rather than purchasing them already made, simply buy unfinished birdhouses at your local craft store. Most are under $4 a piece! Paint, decoupage and hot glue until you have a gorgeous birdhouse and then simply glue it to a candlestick holder and you have a fantastic and rustic centerpiece!
Every single one of these is so easy – you can do it even if you’re not a crafty person. They’re a great DIY option for brides who want to create something on their own but don’t want to bite off more than they can chew.
