Who actually LIKES being sick? I mean, getting to eat lots of popsicles is about the only upside, but beyond that, it’s just awful!
Since it’s that not-so-wonderful time of year, with people getting sick everywhere you turn, how about a post on ways to actually stay healthy leading up to your big day? And when I say “stay healthyâ€, I don’t mean eating too little and working out too much. It is so much more than that! And what’s even better, if you “stay healthy†the right way, not only will you be set for your wedding day and honeymoon, but for years and years of your marriage! (And let’s be honest. Wouldn’t you rather NOT have that “Honey, I think we need to start working out†conversation five years after the wedding?)
So, this great article, “25 Things Every Bride Should Do To Stay Healthy Before the Big Day†by the fabulous people over at LiveSmarter has some great tips to start you on the right foot.
Before you read, keep in mind these few things:
1. Consider making lifestyle changes, not just changes before you walk down the aisle (otherwise you’ll go back to the way you were. And if that’s going to happen, what’s the point in the first place?).
2. Have a way to make sure you get ‘er done! Whether you have a friend getting married around the same time, your ‘maids by your side, or if you’d rather rope in your fiancé, having another person there to get your butt going is always a plus!
3. Make sure there is a method to your madness. Don’t just go to the gym so much one week that you can’t stomach the thought of going the next. Make a plan and stick to it, working you way up. And, make sure you’re working towards your personal health and fitness goals. (Just eating apples for weeks on end and running three miles everyday won’t necessarily give you more toned arm muscles for the strapless number you plan to wear during the honeymoon!) Meet with a personal trainer or dietitian to put yourself on the right track from the start.
And now for the good stuff! A little sampling before you click over to LiveSmart! Some of the things they suggest to help you stay healthy:
1. Eat well
2. Take a walk
3. Eat chocolate
4. Get head massages
5. Avoid going overboard at the spa
6. Having FUN!

What a great idea…I lucked out and never got sick before my wedding…too much adrenaline I think. But I had many friends that seemed to get sick right before their weddings. These tips could really help out!
These tips are hilarious! I just hope the chocolate will work. I also found this other article on ourweddingday.com, it gives some good ideas for taking baby steps over a longer amount of time, not as many guilty pleasures but definitely doable.

I suggest increasing your vitamin C and drinking green tea. When I am helping brides plan their wedding I tell them to talk a walk every day and listen to their wedding music. The music inspires them to get in shape for the big day.
