Quick Travel Tips

This is for all those couples out there that don’t really fly or travel all too often. On a recent trip I picked up a few things:

-Keep your ID on you while at the airport, checking in and going through security. You’ll need it more than once, so keep it where you can get to it easily.

-Check ahead of time with your airline’s luggage requirements and restrictions. You don’t want to pay a large fee for a bag that weighs too much!

-Check online to see if your flight is running on time. And, know the airline’s policy on delayed flights. Is it possible that a flight that was delayed at one time can be moved to a different gate and allowed to leave at the original scheduled time?

-If you can, check in for your flight early online. Save a bit of time and energy.

-And for the sake of your sanity, bring a little somethin’ somethin’ to work on during your waiting time. Books, laptop, etc.

And a few words of travel wisdom from my pal Garret, co-author of Visual Snare and recent traveler to Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Czech Republic, and Ireland (note: very jealous!):

-Pack light. Pack what you think you need then take half.

-Don’t tip unless you know you’re supposed to.

-When traveling in Europe, check your receipts for your credit card numbers. A lot of shops will print your entire number on them!

-To save a few bucks on food, see if your hotel has a fridge. If it does, hit the super market and stock up. Save the money or put it towards something fabulous!

Blessings on your travels!
