There is just something about paper that I can’t resist. It’s not that I don’t love trees, because I DO! I really do! And I don’t want to see them die…But there is just something about holding that thin piece of compressed fibers in your hands, just imagining all of the potential and possibilities that single piece has…So you can see why I love invitations so much! Although, I am a huge fan of the nonconventional (aka non-paper) invitations, here are a few more paper lovelies:

I love this modern, green invite. It can totally be used for a number of different themes (score!). Having a preppy event? Get some pink (or navy blue) envelopes. Going for modern and contemporary? This one is perfect for the fresh, not-too-stuffy look. Or maybe you’re just going for simplicity. You can still achieve that with this fab invitation!

Searching for some high end invitations? Check out this set. The black and red are definitely bold and romantic. (And they can’t help but to remind me of the countless parties I threw with my dearest Rachael, which always seemed to have a red and black vibe…anyone see potential wedding colors here?)

And I just can’t help loving the always fabulous bridal shower invitations. This one is simple. Not too frilly, but just enough “girly” to send the right message. Thanks goodness for all the wonderful options out there!

There really are so many wonderful styles of paper for wedding invitations (and for all invitations for that matter). There are interesting papers for different wedding themes (a nice seashell motif goes well for a beach wedding, for example). Available papers also cover a broad spectrum from a price standpoint – everything from invitations for a budget conscious wedding to invitations for a price is no object wedding (I have yet to get invited to one of those).
You would be amazed at the full spectrum of options and how much time can be consumed reviewing all of the available choices. For us at LCI Paper the challenge is which papers to offer to our customers that meet the widest range of needs. But rest assured, if you can dream it up, there is probably an invitation paper out there to support your “vision”…
I love how designers have been using ribbons on invitations in the last few years. Get rid of the floofy bows and ribbons can look so sleek and modern! I love the second invitation example here. I’ve seen similar styles I love at Jean M Essentials and Your Unique Wedding (http://www.your-unique-wedding.com).
