Talk about an interesting concept. I saw this post over at WeddingBee by Miss Sea Breeze. I could not help but to investigate further.
Imagine dining with twenty two of you friends or business associates, getting married, or just watching something entertaining 120 (or more) feet up in the air. Interested? Then you should check out Events In The Sky. This company hoists people up into the air via crane, in numerous locations around the world, for a few hours of dining, wedding, or entertainment in the sky. No worries, everyone is strapped to their seats or attached by harnesses so there is no falling off the platform!
The company has a few divisions: Dinner in the Sky, Meetings in the Sky, ShowBiz in the Sky, and Marriage in the Sky. “Sky” events can be found all over the world, but as far as finding some locations in the US? Currently, your options are Orlando and Las Vegas.

Check out their main site for more info! Any readers out there participated in an Events in the Sky production?
Married in the Air

It’s your wedding day - you should feel like you’re walking on air, right? Well this couple took that quite seriously…
My mum saw this on CNN this on Tuesday and let me know. On Monday we posted about getting married in space. What will those creative brides and grooms think of next?! Found this video on NECN.com.
Let’s get hitched - in space

Apparently it’s possible…and getting popular! The Luxist, a great blog about luxury living, recently did a post about these far out weddings.

For a small fee of 2.2 million bucks, even you can tie the knot quite literally amongst the stars. DVICE has another fab post about it. Rocketplane Kistler Japan, the transportation, and First Advantage, the wedding planner, will take you high into the sky for a one-hour ceremony. Only downside (other than the large price tag) is that it’s not really a valid wedding of two people - no government (at least on earth) will recognize it. But let’s be honest - if you can afford to get married in space, a few extra hours and dollars on earth won’t break your bank. As DVICE puts it - at least you’ll have some cool wedding pictures!

Bride Dies During Marriage’s First Dance

Hello! I just saw this on Yahoo and thought I’d share.
This article is about a bride who dreamed of having her own Big Fat Greek Wedding. While the wedding itself went off without a hitch, the reception didn’t go so well.
It really is a sad story, so be prepared before you read.
Sorry for the downer! Lesson learned? If you know you have an illness or disease, perhaps getting checked out before the big day would be helpful.
Floral Flop

Do you take your wedding flowers seriously? Read this article about a couple that sued their florist for providing inadequate services and products.
This just goes to show: make sure you talk to your vendors’ previous clients and take a good look at what each is capable of before you hire them!

“License to Wed”

I’m a sucker for cheesy movies that involve falling in love and getting married, so naturally, I liked License to Wed with Mandy Moore, Robin Williams, and John Kransinski. The story line is simple: Ben and Sadie meet, fall in love, and decide they want to tie the knot. Always having dreamt of marrying in the church she grew up in, they meet with Reverend Frank to discuss the details. But little do they know what he has planned for them.
They must pass Reverend Frank’s marriage preparation course before they can say their I Dos in his church. He tests them again and again, but can they pass? Watch as Ben and Sadie share many experiences that fellow brides and grooms go through during their courtship and engagement period. If you and your groom are feeling like some good laughs, check it out! If you feel weighed down by all things wedding, perhaps you should view the movie after the wedding. You might just find you shared a few things with Ben and Sadie.
Um, you’re a little early…

This is great! An excited guest, David Barclay, booked a plane ticket from Canada to Britain for a friend’s wedding, to take place on July 6.
Even though he found it odd that he never received an invitation and that July 6th was on a Friday (not a typical wedding day), he hopped on a plane and flew 5600km (roughly 3480 miles). After he arrived, he called up the groom to ask where and when the wedding would be.
Turns out, he was a year early.

Bridezilla? No Joke.

PEOPLE magazine recently had an article about Katie Masters, a bride with five fabulous bridesmaids. While doing some wedding work, she came across a “Bridesmaid’s Contract†on theknot.com. She found it hysterical, so she sent it to her ladies as a joke. Seems funny, right? Consider this. The contact had “clauses†that restricted the ‘maids from changing their hairstyles or gaining weight before the wedding.
Sounds funny enough, but some of her ladies didn’t get that it was just a joke. Through emails, the somewhat private joke turned much too public. It got to the point where Masters was receiving hate mail and having vendors cancel on her.
So a word to all of you brides out there. It’s one thing to ask your bridesmaids to do a few nice things for you. It’s something completely different to basically have them sign their lives away to you. A sense of humor is vital during your wedding planning period, but make sure your family and friend know when you’re just joking!
Just for fun, we made up our own “Bridesmaid’s Contractâ€. Check it out below.
Bridesmaid’s

According to Sheri and Bob Stritof of About.com, these wedding movies are great to put you in the marrying mood. A tip from weddingfanatic: if you’re counting down the days until “I do,†and you feel the pressure of all things wedding weighing down on you, pick a movie that has absolutely nothing to do with weddings, especially if you’re watching it with your fiancée. There is no need bringing to the forefront any negative emotions, potential worries, or new ideas that don’t have the time or funds to be executed.
1. “It Had to Be You” (1947)
