Today is my mama’s birthday!

from Orchid on the Metro
Happy Birthday, MOM!!
I love you.
Happy 4th!
Hello all! Short post today (I’m just way too excited about the fireworks…). Found this red, white, and blue tablescape that doesn’t make me think “Independence Day” at all. Patriotic or not, this color combo is fun and fabulous!

From Table Settings, which I believe may have been found on Oprah.
(And just for fun…)

From Farfalla Wedding.

Happy Mother’s Day!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you moms out there! We wouldn’t be where we are today without you (quite literally).

Ah, Valentine’s Day
Whether you love it or hate it, there is no denying it, it’s Valentine’s Day!
Bring on the pink and red, hearts and roses, and best of all, the CANDY!
So, whether you believe Valentine’s Day was created by the card and candy companies or in the St. Valentines (I’ve heard there was more than one!) of yesteryear, there is no reason you can’t get into the spirit…just a little!
Let’s say you’re engaged. You’ve done all this wedding planning. All this buzzing and running around over planning an event that screams to the world that you and your soon-to-be spouse love each other. And let’s be honest. You’ve spent a lot of money doing it. So if you want to go out and spend a ton of money on a present for your beloved, do it! But you know what can be just as special (if not more)? Just spending some good, quality time together! Make dinner together…then eat it together. Watch a movie and eat chocolates together. Whatever you’re doing, if you’re doing it together, it counts! And a word to the wise: leave the wedding talk at the door, at least for today. Focus on the person you love, not the event that’s coming up. After all, he (or she) is what it’s all about!

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to all of our readers! Our goal in the new year is to redesign the site and get back to our posting frequency of 3-5/week. Thanks for reading our site and subscribing to the feed!

For many people, this is a lucky number. For others it goes back to the Bible. And yet for those who just like a good looking set of numbers, today is just the date. Whatever their reason, tons of couples are getting married today, on 7.7.07. Of course, you have probably already heard this from famous couples, the news, or the three or four couples you know getting married today. Kudos to those of you actually attending all the weddings to which you were invited.
If you got married or attended a wedding today, let us hear about it. Send us your story and some pictures, and we’ll feature the best ones in a WeddingFanatic post. Email us at weddingfanatic{at}gmail{dot}com.

Happy 4th of July!
Okay! We couldn’t resist. The 4th of July, with its reds, whites, and blues… If you’re planning your wedding around the 4th or just like the patriotic colors, this post is for you.
You can definitely find red and white flowers. Blue may be a little tricky, but here is something nice from Dream Weddings on a Budget.

Looking for something sweet? Check out this “I love my country” cake from Diana’s Dream Cakes.

Maybe you like the idea of using the 4th as inspiration, but are not all that into the bright reds, deep blues, and brilliant whites. Try incorporating “4th elements” in other, more subtle ways. Perhaps having starts somewhere on your invitation, or stripes on your cake. Maybe a softer blue or a lighter red with white is more your style. Or maybe having a fireworks display as you leave from your reception is just enough 4th of July for you. Remember, it’s all in the details!
Also! Check out The Hostess with the Mostess’ blog. Some of their recent posts are all about Independence Day and great celebration ideas.
